Full Description

The site of a Second World War embanked gun emplacement, part of the defences at Minnis Bay seen as an earthwork and mapped from RAF/106G/UK/1378 FV 7061 04-APR-1946, now levelled. This appears to have been attached to a trench built at the start of the war. This trench was subsequentlt incorporated into an anti-aircraft landing obstruction. Google Earth aerial photographs show a ring ditch within the site of the gun emplacement visible as a cropmark now the site has been levelled. It is not clear whether this is part of the the gun emplacement, the earlier trench system or an eariler ring ditch site.
