Full Description
A defended area with barbed wire entanglements extending between Birchington and Plumbpudding Island, the beach and the railwayline visible on aerial photographs RAF/S647 V 36 06-NOV-1941 and RAF/106G/UK/1378 FV 7061 04-APR-1946. This was one of a series of methods employed to protect this low-lying area of the coast with out cliffs to protect the land from invasion from the sea. All trace of the defences have bee removed.
