ANTI LANDING OBSTACLE (Modern - 1940 AD to 1945 AD)

Full Description

The site of one of a series of Second World War anti-landing obstacles visible as earthworks and mapped from aerial photographs RAF aerial photographs (1-2). The obstruction was formed by a 160m long trench with mounds of upcast soil placed down either side of the ditch to impede landing enemy aircraft. These are now levelled (Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021) and only parts of the central ditch have been seen as a cropmark on EARTH.GOOGLE.CO, 3/2022 ACCESSED 20-MAY-2024 . (3-4)
