Full Description
The site of one of a series of Second World War anti-landing obstacles visible as earthworks and mapped from aerial photographs RAF aerial photographs -RAF/26J/BR194 VC 35 10-JAN-1941 and RAF/106G/UK/1378 FV 7061 04-APR-1946. The obstruction was formed by a 75m long north-south aligned trench with mounds of upcast soil flanking the ditch to impede landing enemy aircraft. A second short length of ditch with 3 mounds at 90 degrees to this ditch extends westwards from the northern end. These are now levelled (Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021)(1-3).
