Full Description
The group of possible stack stands is centred at TR 0737 2352, and extends across an area measuring approximately 286m south-east to north-west, and a maximum of 53m south-west to north-east. They consist of perfectly circular mounds, and range in size from three to seven metres in diameter. The interpretation as stack stands is only a suggestion, and other explanations may be possible.
By the time of the next available aerial photograph of 1959, the mounds appear to have been levelled, and are not visible even in cropmark form. They are very similar in both size and appearance to another group of possible stack stands located approximately 570m to the south-east (1-2).
