Monument record TR 36 SW 494 - Extractive Pit, east of Laurensfield
Summary
A medieval/post medieval extractive pit is visible as a cropmark on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 21-APR-2007. This feature was also revealed during a geophysical survey and evaluation trenching carried out off Foxborough Lane. Finds of a medieval and post medieval date were seen within its fill and it is likley related to to medieval or post-medieval quarrying activity, as this has also been identified previously in the vicinity.
