Full Description
The site of a large Second World public air raid shelter on open ground at The Courts visible on RAF aerial photographs -RAF/26J/BR194 VC 12 10-JAN-1941. The shelter appears as an elongated earthen mound over 40m long and 10m deep , probably a semi-sunken Stanton shelter. This feature was mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. Removed after the end of the war. (1-2)
