Full Description
Two maculae of uncertain date was visible as a cropmark in HEA 29754/27 29-JUN-2015. One is a linear cropmark lying almost perpendicular to the remains of an extensive Second World War trench network. However, no structures or earthworks of that system are visible in the position of the cropmark in 1940s aerial photographs and it is unlikely to represent a feature of that period. The second is a short feature in ground now occupied by Parish Close. It too lies perpendicular to the remains of part of the trench network but it not clearly associated with it. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1)
