Full Description
Four weapons pits of Second World War date were visible as earthworks in RAF/HLA/383 RS 959 28-DEC-1941. The features were recorded as levelled earthworks on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. The weapons pits are positioned close to the junction of trackways north-east of St Nicholas's church. They formed part of the St Nicholas at Wade Defended Area that was established during 1940-41. They were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
