Full Description

Second World War slit trench, Royal Crescent, Westbrook visible as an earthwork on RAF/HLA/540 RV 6008 17-MAY-1942. Visible as an L-shaped ditch this may be a slit trench for use as a shelter located in the central island between the Royal Crescent and Canterbury Road. The feature is later seen to have been demolished on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021.This site was mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. (1-2)
