Full Description

Fragmented remains of an embanked field system possibly of post medieval date visible as a low earthworks in Hartsdown Park, Margate on LIDAR Environment Agency DTM 07-DEC-2017. These banks were mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. These boundaries pre-date the first edition OS map, but are likely to be post medieval in date. Fragments of similar boundaries have been recorded across the Isle of Thanet (1).
