Full Description
Twentieth Century prefabricated houses are visible as buildings on RAF/58/688/PART 3 5017 23-MAY-1951. The houses have been demolished on the latest Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 14-APR-2015. The features were recorded as part of the Thanet Landscape Mapping project.
An estate of post-war prefabricated houses centred at TR 3737 6662 which were built in 1946 along St Clement's Road and Martin's Close at Whitehall visible on aerial photographs.The houses were square, single storeyed with a flat or slightly pitched roof as well as a small shed gardens and concrete paths. They were removed and replaced by flats at some point after 1960, but the road layout has remained. A second estate was constructed at Newington. These estates have been mapped from aerial photographs as part of the Historic England: Ramsgate HAZ project.(1-2)
