Monument record TQ 87 NW 1220 - The slight earthwork remains of a five low banks or boundaries of uncertain date,
Summary
The slight earthwork remains of a five low banks or boundaries of uncertain date, possibly forming a group of former fields on a raised area to the south of Binney Farm within Allhallows Marshes. No trace of these former boundaries can be seen on the early Orndnance Survey maps. These boundaries are similar to a those found scattered across the higher ridge which extends south-west from Allhallows. These boundaries are thought to represent an extensive field system of uncertain date, possibly pre-dating the medieval cultivation. These were mapped from Environment Agency lidar imagery as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape project.
