Full Description

Cropmarks of a possible medieval settlement enclosure south-east of Westgate on Sea visible on aerial photographs -Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 21-APR-2007 . The enclosure is incomplete with only the northern and parts of the western and eastern ditches visible. It measures 26.3m across. An elongated broad ditch to the south may be part of the southern side of the enclosure. This site is one on a number of possible medieval settment enclosures and may be associated with an extensive ditched field system MKE124774. These features were mapped mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. (1)
