Cropmarks of a possible medieval settlement enclosure south of Westgate on Sea visible on aerial photographs -Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 21-APR-2007 and HEA 29749/37 29-JUN-2015 The enclosure is incomplete with only the eastern side complete and parts of the northern and southern visible. The remainder lies beneath the northern-most of Closes Cottages and is cut by a NE-SW track through the fields. It measures 32m N-S. To the south-east is a fragmented ditch which may be associated with this enclosure and possibly a second enclosure (TR 36 NW 112) beyond. This site is one on a number of possible medieval settment enclosures and may be associated with an extensive ditched field system MKE124774.
