Full Description

An enclosure forming part of a settlement of Medieval date was visible as a cropmark in HEA 33062/7 24-AUG-2016. Three sides of the sub-rectangular enclosure were visible, appearing to front onto Seamark Road. It was approximately 31.7m by 21.7m on plan. This feature was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1)

The enclosure is identified in NRHE data as one of three small probable Iron Age or Roman rectangular settlement enclosures at TR 2894 6611 visible on aerial photographs taken in 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording programme. However, this interpretation has since been updated during the 2024 Historic England Isle of Thanet project. (2)
