Full Description
A building platform for a hangar of Second World War date was visible as a structure in RAF/HLA/564 V 6043 01-JUN-1942. At least five ribs of what was probably a blister hangar are visible in this image, standing on the concrete platform.
Located on the southern area of the former grass outfield, it was removed for the construction of the crash runway laid in 1943-44. It was recorded as a demolished structure in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021 and was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
