Full Description

Fighter pens of Second World War date were visible as earthworks in RAF/HLA/564 V 6029 01-JUN-1942. They stood as a conjoined group of three pens in the south-east corner of RAF Manston's grass outfield, with hardstandings joined to a perimeter track. They were removed for the construction of the airfield's crash runway (1943-44).

They were recorded as a levelled earthwork in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021 and were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
