Full Description
A slit trench and weapons pit of Second World War date were visible as earthworks in RAF/HLA/386 RP 664 02-JAN-1942. The complex, revetted zig-zag slit trench with a weapons pit in one side of its earthwork bank formed part of the defences on the east flank of RAF Manston. These features were recorded as levelled earthworks in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. They were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
