Full Description

Workshops and a photographic studio of 20th century date were visible as structures in RAF/HLA/564 V 6029 01-JUN-1942. They were located at RAF Manston's 'War Flight' area on the east side of the airfield, constructed around 1917. A large workshop and a photographic studio stood to the rear of the War Flight hangars. A Blacksmith and Welding Shop and two further small buildings were established alongside the large workshop building, probably during the Second World War. These features were recorded as demolished structures in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. It was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
