Full Description

A possible Second World War slit trench visible as an earthwork on RAF/106G/UK/1378 V 5050 04-APR-1946 and as a levelled earthwork on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 25-MAY-2012.The trench when seen as an earthwork was over 40m in length and had traces of the upcast ditch to the west. It is located outside the barbed wire enclosure of a Second World War defenced area on one of the trenches which made up defences in the early part of the war. This site was mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024.(1-2)
