Full Description
Maintenance workshops of 20th century date were visible as structures in RAF/HLA/564 V 6028 01-JUN-1942. They were located in the 'War Flight' area of RAF Manston.
The larger of the two buildings was recorded on a plan of RAF Manston dating to 7 April 1930 (RAF Museum, Hendon, reference MFC/78/24/0883), described as a garage. It and an adjacent smaller building were recorded as RAF Motor Maintenance buildings on a mid-20th century plan of the airfield (RAF Museum, Hendon, refefence X004/2380).
They were recorded as demolished buildings in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. They were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
