Full Description

Hard standings of 20th century date were visible as structures in RAF/HLA/564 V 6020 01-JUN-1942. They represent the bases of small huts arranged either side of the road serving the north end of RAF Manston. Some of these buildings are just visible in a published aerial photograph dating to 28 February 1930. The hard standings were recorded as demolished structures in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021 and were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-3)
