Full Description
1925-7 semi detached houses facing east to designs by Herbert Baker. Red brick with hipped roof, symmetrical elevations, outshoot to rear. Various internal survivals including plan form, doors and windows and other fittings.
Nos 1-2 and 4-5 built to designs by Sir Herbert Baker, architect and resident at Owletts during 20th century. Represent his approach to domestic vernacular buildings.
Plans are relatively small with single principal rooms front and rear smaller associated stairs and service rooms. Large gardens to rear for nos 1-2 and to front and rear for 3-5. All closely associated with grade II* listed Owletts House, which sits at centre of group. Further association through Herbert Baker with Tudor Yeoman's House in nearby Sole Street [1].
