Full Description
Gun emplacements of Second World War date were visible as earthworks in RAF/HLA/564 V 6015 01-JUN-1942. They were located to the south-east of the First World War semi-sunken hangar on Manston Road (MKE97296). The features included two v-plan slit trenches, two small sub-oval slit trenches and a small gun emplacement enclosed by a pennanular slit trench.
These features were recorded as levelled earthworks in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. They were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
