Full Description
Slit trenches of Second World War date were seen as earthworks in RAF/HLA/407 V 78 28-FEB-1942 and RAF/HLA/564 V 6012 01-JUN-1942. The partially revetted slit trenches were located on the west side of RAF Manston's technical area and probably provided cover linking fighter pens at the edge of the airfield with a group of air raid shelters nearby. These features were recorded as levelled earthworks in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. They were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-3)
