St Nicholas At Wade, Thanet - Extent as seen on the on the 3rd and 4th edition of the OS 25” maps.
The village has undergone several land use changes as well as expansion to the East and West.
Silsoe Court has been built to the North side of Canterbury Road, between 1929-1952.
Between 1929-1952, Houses were built within the triangle Canterbury Road, The Length and Manor Road. In addition.
More houses, with large gardens, have been built to the West of Millers Cottage/Manor Road.
The land to the East of North Grange (modern OS Map) is identified as ‘St Nicholas Hospital’, although there isn’t a building shown as being present on the land.
A Convalescent Home as been built to the South of The Street, opposite St Nicholas’s Church.
To the West of the Village, a number of houses have been built on both sides of Down Barto Road and Summer Road. <1> <2>
