Full Description
A possible late Neolithic - early Bronze Age round barrow visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs: NMR 3115/0086 02-JUL-1986. The site appears a a double-ditched ring ditch. The outer ditch is penannular or incomplete, measuring 16.5m x 18m. Within this is a smaller irregular, sitghtly off-set ring ditch of c.9.4m in diameter. A single ring ditch is located immediately to the south. The double-ditched ring ditch site bears a close similarity to an excavated late Neolithic - early Bronze Age round barrow (TR 36 NW 423) 180m to the NE which aslo has traces of a second possible single ring ditch -MKE125726- on its southern side. This site has been mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. (1)
