Full Description
Three revetted zig-zag slit trenches forming part of a defended locality of Second World War date were visible as earthworks in RAF/HLA/564 V 6010 01-JUN-1942.
They were situated on Telegraph Hill, dug alongside a group of huts and other structures and enclosed by a barbed wire entanglement (MKE125769), all forming part of defences on the western flank of RAF Manston.
The features were recorded as levelled earthworks in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021 (they had been removed by the time that RAF Manston's crash runway was constructed in 1943-44). They were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
