Full Description
A VHF Fixer Station of Second World War date was visible as a structure in RAF/106G/UK/1378 V 5080 04-APR-1946.. It was positioned to the west of the west end of RAF Manston's crash runway constructed in 1943-44. It was described as 'VHF Main Beacon' on a mid-20th century plan of RAF Manston (RAF Museum, Hendon, reference X004/2380).
It was recorded as a demolished structure in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. It was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (1-2)
