Full Description
Hollicondane - extent of settlement as shown on the 1797 and Tithe(1837-58) maps. The settlement at this time was little more than a couple of farms. Legend has it that the name of the village comes from a boy shouting to his father 'Holler again! Holler again!' during a storm. The boy's body was found the following morning. (See Hereson/Hearson for the other half of the story!)
