Monument record TQ 67 SE 1285 - The cropmarks of a probable Later Prehistoric enclosure and associated boundary ditch can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2011 and 1973
Summary
The cropmarks of a probable Later Prehistoric enclosure and associated boundary ditch can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2011 and 1973. This is situated on the eastern slope of a coombe on the eastern edge of Gravesend. The cropmark of the enclosure, though incomplete, defines an area 42m by 37m. The enclosure is straight-sided with rounded corners. Aligned on the southern side of the enclosure is a boundary ditch which continues to the south-west for circa 26m. These features were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
