Full Description
The cropmark traces of a single ring ditch, the remains of a probable Bronze Age round barrow with interneral cropmark traces of part or a medieval post mill cross-trees impression suggesting reuse of a barrow . This is one of a group of eight ring ditches in a linear (W-E) cemetery which have been mapped from aerial photographs: EARTH.GOOGLE.COM JUN-2013. ACCESSED 03-MAY-2024, Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 14-APR-2015 and HEA 29844/50 20-APR-2016 as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. This site is a ring ditch with a diameter of 26m in diameter. This site lies in the eastern half of the group of barrows which is aligned W-E to the north of the A299. The transcription indicates a interrupted ditch, but this is due to breaks in the cropmark at the edge of the cultivation, bisecting the barrow.(1-3)
