The cropmark of a possible post medieval chalk pit can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2011. This cropmark is situated to the south of Chalk and is centred on TQ 6743 7233. It was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1)
