Monument record TQ 67 SE 1302 - The fragmented cropmark remains of a sub-divided rectilinear enclosure, possibly part of a settlement or field system of uncertain date
Summary
The fragmented cropmark remains of a sub-divided rectilinear enclosure, possibly part of a settlement or field system of uncertain date seen amongst the cropmark remains of a Bronze Age barrow cemetery. The enclosure ditches are straight. The northern ditch can be traced for 40m and what can be seen of the rest of the enclosure indicates it is 50m across (north-south). This site and the barrow cemetery were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
