The cropmarks of a possible Roman square enclosure can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1975. This enclosure is situated to the north of Harts Hill. The ditch is approximately 0.7m wide and defines and area 11.6m by 10.7m. This cropmark is situated to the north of Harts Hill and was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
