Sank following collision with the SS DUNGENESS, of Glasgow. The DURHAM was in tow, to finish loading. Weather conditions were calm. (1)(2)

1864: Built as SMYRNA, 1793 tons, for W E MacAndrew, London; 1868 DURHAM; 1870 SMYRNA; 1871 DURHAM.
