Former extractive pit (e.g chalk, clay, gravel), visible on 2nd edition map only. Recorded during 2024 Kent Downs National Landscape Historic Ponds project.
Preservation:Pond on historic maps but not visible on current OS (ghost pond)
Pond shape:Circular/oval
Site type: Former extractive pit (e.g chalk, clay, gravel)
Description: This pond appears only on the 1900 OS map. It appears as "Stone" on the earlier 1870 map and is not on the current OS map. There is a faint Lidar impression. The field is now used for arable crops.
