Full Description
Cropmarks thought to represent droveways were identified at Hillborough, Herne Bay, during a desk-based assessment in 2009. The cropmarks comprised a series of NE-SW aligned linear features, set within a landscape of prehistoric archaeological sites and other cropmarks thought to represent possible roundhouses and enclosures (TR 16 NE 1402). The comparison of the cropmark evidence with prehistoric remains recovered from another excavated site in the vicinity, suggest that these sites could be part of a wider landscape of prehistoric settlement.
