Full Description
A chalk pit is visible on the 2nd OS map at Elham, Shepway. The pit is labelled as "Old Chalk Pit" on this map, and a pond or feature is visible at this site on the Heritage Tithe Map and the 1st edition OS Map, suggesting that the pit is likely to have been established prior to the mid-late 19th century.
