Description :Two large mill ponds connected via a Footbridge just behind the main high street. Seen from 1st edition OS. On modern OS the river now feeds it.

The pond does not appear to be directly associated with the Corn Mill to the south east of the site, which is fed by three other ponds to the south. This feature is labelled as 'fish pond' on the 3rd and 4th edition OS maps but is also visible as a pond on the Heritage Tithe Map and 1st and 2nd edition OS maps, suggesting its function could have changed over time. The pond (TQ 45 SW 261) directly to the east was originally part of the same pond as this one. (2, 3, 4, 5)
