A borehole survey was carried out at the site in 2025. One borehole was drilled up to 0.4m in depth and sampling was carried out on the brick wall and brick lining of the pond. The only deposits identified comprised an active modern land surface overlying a topsoil containing ceramic building material. The borehole could not be drilled further due to the presence of ceramic building material and rooting. Investigations indicated that the feature had been constructed sometime between 1890 and 1900 AD. (2)
