Full Description
A possible prehistoric barrow was identified during a geophysical survey of Sutton Field, Lenham in 2007. The feature is formed of a horseshoe shape, and is thought to resemble a wedge tomb in form. A scrap of Neolithic pottery was identified during a trial excavation at the site. If the feature is a tomb, its entrance would have faced the summer sunrise or mid-winter moon-rise. A possible Neolithic bridge (TQ 95 SW 164) was identified to the north of the feature. (1)
