Full Description
Three pits filled with burnt flint, charcoal lumps and charcoal flecks were found during a watching brief covering the footprint of a new school building on the site. A sample from one of the pits dated to the Early Bronze Age (4245 - 4081 cal BP). A single debitage flake was found in Pit 1. A charred wheat grain and hazlenut shell were found in environmental samples from Pit 3, alongside a stone interpreted as a pounding stone. (1)
