Full Description
Second World War defended location with surrounded by barbed wire with gun emplacements and a possible pillbox centred at TR 3810 6455 overlooking the inner lagoon of Ramasgate harbour which was visible on aerial photographs taken in 1941. The barbed wire extended around the grassed area between Nelson Crescent and Royal Parade, the SW and NE ends curving towards the harbour across the entire width of Royal Parade, and open towards the harbour.. The two gun emplacements were probably sand bag defended machine guns. A possible pillbox was located at TR 3813 6455. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England: Ramsgate HAZ project. (1)
