Full Description

A Second World War bomb crater to the west of the slipway of Ramsgate harbour which is visible on aerial photographs taken in May 1942. The bomb struck a cluster of small boats which had been pulled up onto the beach area in the NE corner of the harbour against the inner harbour wall, possibly as a deterrent to invading landing craft. This was mapped as part of the Historic England: Ramsgate HAZ project.(1)
