Full Description

Second World War defensive scaffolding, anti-tank blocks and barbed wire extending along the beach and seafront at Ramsgate Harbour, visible on military aerial photographs taken in December 1941. The scaffolding lay along the beach, extending 500m whilst the anti tank cubes were placed at the top of the beach. The scaffolding was removed later in the war. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England: Ramsgate HAZ project.(1)
