Summary

A possible Second World War gun emplacement and adjacent slit trench in Spencer Square visible on aerial photographs taken in 1941and mapped as part of the Historic England: Ramsgate HAZ project. The gun emplacement could be seen at TR 3794 6450 as a raised sub-circular enclosure, possibly sand bags. The slit trench appeared as an L shaped cut in the SE corner of Spencer Square at TR 3795 6451. Both were removed at the end of the war. (1)

A possible Second World War gun emplacement and adjacent slit trench in Spencer Square visible on aerial photographs taken in 1941and mapped as part of the Historic England: Ramsgate HAZ project. The gun emplacement could be seen at TR 3794 6450 as a raised sub-circular enclosure, possibly sand bags. The slit trench appeared as an L shaped cut in the SE corner of Spencer Square at TR 3795 6451. Both were removed at the end of the war. (1)
