Monument record TQ 65 SE 22 - Site of mounds, previously thought to be barrows, Yalding

Summary

A possible barrow mound, and some smaller examples, were previously identified on the Raydon Estate in a game reserve between two footpaths. On a visit to the site it was decided that these mounds are naturally occuring features.

Full Description

TQ 669516. A mound and possibly a tumulus and other minor mounds, is situated on the Raydon Estate in a game reserve between two footpaths.(1) These mounds are quite natural: eroded green sand knolls at the junction with the London (Weald) Clay. Area TQ 669517.(2)
