Summary

Site of temporary light anti aircraft (Diver) battery at Benenden which was occupied from 24th June - 5th July 1944. This had been part of the second deployment of anti aircraft equipment to the Kentish Gun Belt. This battery consisted of a 40mm light anti aircraft gun deployed to a site which already had adequate troop accommodation, and it was manned by 129 Regiment of 102 Brigade. It was abandoned in favour of the four-gun intermediate light anti aircraft sites in July 1944.
